So i have a 8v battery that i can get for free never had acid put to it, as it is not im still doing body work on my 53 gmc 5 window, but i'm on a tight budget. So heres my question. i know 12v is the best option but can be pricey. my truck starts great and runs great with the 6v system in place now. What i would like to do is put a 8v battery and a 6v alternator and be able to get rid of the pesky regulator that could cuase me problems. has anyone done this? will it work??? thanks guys
