I think the school is still out on the rack & pinion steering. Many question that it will work with a straight axle at all.
I have not installed one so am not an expert. I have, however installed several Toyota conversions on TF trucks and a 56 Ford F100 and feel it is the best conversion. They are getting scarce and you will probably pay close to $1000 for it.
