I strongly agree with Dave's emphatic suggestion to buy/use the installation kit. You most likely could obtain those parts yourself and save some money, if you can easily find part numbers and do not have to pay shipping from a variety of vendors.
My Suburban was very quiet inside after my restoration; however, after doing the 3.55 conversion and using all the replacement kit bearings and bushing, it is noticeably quieter inside my Suburban, even at higher RPMs.
