i bought a magnetic base for $2:
magnetic base and mounted my traffic light viewer to it. this way i can move it around to wherever i like for looks or effectiveness - and avoid drilling holes in my dashboard (i like to stay away from irreversible mods).
i put a thin piece of fabric on the bottom and this prevents scratching the dash paint.
i am happy at how this worked out.
