I have been given 5 starters and 5 or 6 generators by people who were cleaning up after engine or charging system upgrades. If somebody is willing to pay shipping, I'd suggest giving 'em away. Two starters or generators will fit in a USPS large flat rate box ($14.95) and they stay under the 70 pound max. weight. The guy who offered you 20 bucks each as cores is being very generous. If you want to go to the effort of a teardown, cleanup, and checkout they'll be worth considerably more, but you would need to be willing to guarantee they're in working condition to get the sort of price you're suggesting.
