That engine/trans assembly is long, heavy, and has a habit of trying to flip over when supported from the bottom. I'd suggest that you buy, borrow, or rent a cherry picker type engine lift and support it from the top. If you've got the cab off the frame, which I believe you do, it's easy to figure out where the balance point is to do a straight-up lift.
