Might give them a call next week and see if they would sell me some scraps, better yet if
you have connections with someone there that would even be better.
I have a machine shop background and tool and die work didn’t come cheap back then
and I‘m sure it has only gotten worse. As I said, I taint lookin' to go in business, I'm just
an old retired dude with way to many interests wanting to do a little experimenting. Love
to try and make things that are no longer being made available to us anymore and like to
share what I learn with anyone that is interested. Right now it's vacuum wipers, fans and
maybe if I can find a little time and the right fabric reinforced buna-n this winter some
playing around with Carter accelerator pumps.
A mold for a shallow diaphragms like I’m aiming at are relatively simple to make if you
have a lathe and a mill and I have both in the shop. What I don’t have is small scraps of
uncured cloth reinforced sheet rubber in .020“- .032”-.040”.
Tks for keeping it going guys, might be able to get over that brick wall yet.
If I spent as much time on my truck as I do chasing windmills I could have finished a
couple of them by now!!!
