Sorry as I read it that's not quite like my signature says... nothing about making it harder on yourself than necessary.

I suggest figuring out what the truck is supposed to do and then make smart choices to get it there. Carefully evaluate all options and choose the best path considering quality of the final product and the amount of work it'll take.
