I have 16x6.5 from a Ford van on my 54 truck. There is less than 1/4" of clearance, but they fit. I know of some other guys that have tried this, but had no luck. There are also companies out there that make 16" 8 lug rims for trailer. Again, some guys say they fit, others not so much. Your best bet is to get a couple different rims from the junkyard and see what works for you.
