| | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 | I'm familiar with the 216 and 235 engines, not sure about the GMC trucks, but bottom line was the oil filters were optional. They mounted on the intake manifold. Canister type filters. Open the top of the can, and pull the filter element out to replace.
So you may not have a filter.
