I have a '54 3100 and have decided to replace the front leaf springs. I have both springs removed and shackles. The shackles appear to be in excellent condition. However, I noticed the shackle on the passenger side, the threaded pin that goes through the threaded bushing through the frame has some "chuck" in it. I'm referring to the threaded pin when screwed into the threaded bushing, not the rest of the shackle assembly.

My question is, is a little "chuck" acceptable? My guess is not. I've rolled the threaded pin across a flat surface and it rolls true. I took the threaded pin from the Drivers side and threaded it into this bushing and it had a "slight chuck". Should I remove the bushing and install new shackle kit?

BTW I have "searched" this in the forums and have been following the suspension/spring/shackle issues for the pass five years.

Thank you for your guidance.
