This is my 1953 Chevy 3100 pickup that I have owned since 1992. That is the last year that this pickup was driven. I purchased the pickup because it reminded me of my Grandfather. I remember seeing a photo of him standing next to a 1953 Chevy pickup - one of the few autos that he purchased new. His smile (which I never saw him do much while he was living) was so amazing that I had to buy one for myself.
Needless to say ... After 20 years of life and career changes, I'm finally getting back to the restoration. Over the years I have accumulated numerous parts, advice, etc. to help make the rebuilding process move as quickly and smoothly as my bank account and time will allow. The advice that I have received from members here at Stovebolt is nothing short of awesome! This site is the best!!!
I plan to have the sheetmetal sandblasted and primed before the end of the summer 2012. Then I'll move to the mechanical phase. Like I said ... I have alot of new parts that I've been patiently waiting to install. I look forward to sharing my experiences with everyone and look forward to hearing from you as progress is made over the next couple of years. I just hope that I can get this truck completed in 2 - 3 year timeframe.
