For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 9 | Im pretty sure I read somewhere on here that the 2nd gen camaro rear ends are direct bolt in because the spring perch is in the same spot as the factory leaf springs, that is if you plan on putting the axle on top of the springs to lower it as well. 1/2 ton the springs are on top of the axle and the 3/4 ton trucks have the springs under the axle. the only thing is the axle is a little smaller in length then your factory axle which means you will need wheel spacers and or reverse offset wheels. check this link, http://quickperformance.com/Technical%20Info/sus_measure.htm I found it a huge help, and fund a 68 nova rearend for my 49 3600 for 70 bucks on craigslist. goodluck!!!
