I'm almost done with my 216, I won't say how much money I have into it in all, but I will say I have $500 into the crankshaft alone. But I had it drilled for oiling, had the end drilled and tapped for a bolt to hold the damper on, and ground, the shipping was horrendous. You won't get away cheap. but it is cool. You can upgrade the oiling with no external indication. It really isn't that hard. You can use a full pressure crank and rods out of a 235, you will need custom pistons, but ross makes pistons and they will adjust the compression height for no extra charge, (they still aren't cheap) and cut down the thrust bearing journal in the block. Or you can get the 216 crank drilled. there are a few options. I kept mine, I can't really see 19 more cubic inches making that incredible difference, if you have any interest PM me, I will tell you everything I have learned about this. I mean anyone can put a 235 in it, as far as I am concerned you might as well put in a crate motor, but that is just me. However a '46 might have some major difference from my '52, my knowledge of these is limited to MY engine, but like I said I will share anything I have figured out. We both might learn something.
