I bought a "kit" from Northern Tool once to make my flatbed dump. It was an electric hydraulic pump, a scissor mechanism, the ram and hose. I ended up having to fabricate my own hinges because the ones in the kit didn't work with my frame/flatbed. I also don't like the way the scissor mechanism works - the ram is fighting against itself when you need the most power (right at the start of the lift)
That said, I would buy the electric hydraulic unit by itself. Then I would fab up a twin ram set-up like on "Big Tonka's" site mentioned in the above post. Make your own hinges and get the hydraulic lines made to order at the local tractor dealer and you're good to go.
I love having a dump bed! When I go to the landfill and park next to a guy in a 2011 Super Duty who is shoveling grass clippings out of the back, I love to see the look on his face when this old truck starts dumping!! Priceless!
