I like the idea of the heat gun. I have a model I use for paint stripping. I'm going to let it soak all day in the carb cleaner (which dosn't seem to clean much), and then try that trick.

I have a little ultrasonic cleaner that we used to use to clean Rapidiograph points, back when we still drew on paper. I might give that a shot too.
