| | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 110 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 110 | I've been working on fixing the rust spots on my `59 1/2 ton and got to looking at the wheels. They are steel wheels with the little clips to hold a small hubcap. Three of the tires are 6.20-15 and one is 6-16.
Thought that was funny so I went outside to check my `58 1/2 ton "parts truck". It has the same steel rims with the clips except it's sporting 7-17.5 tires.
So, what was the stock size for a standard 2wd 1/2 ton?
I'm going to run a 235 with a 3 speed trany. I'm assuming that the 7-17.5 would really help with cruising speed, If I could find tires.
What size are you running?
