Thanks for the responses guys. The “gap” I am findings is between the bearing and axel, not the bearing and housing. This bearing is the type that is pressed into the axel housing and then axel goes in. With the axels out of the housing my orig. bearing fits nice and tight over the axel and the NAPA while it feels like it fits well over the axel, but has just a hint of movement. I measured with a spark plug gap feeler blade. I was also told that there should be a bearing number on the “side” of the bearing and mine is not visible. I do have a number on the “top” of the bearings. Hyatt makes the bearing and one says 1553 T and the other one (same bearing different side) looks like 1559 T. I will start doing web searches and see if I can find anything on these. I really thought they would be in a book at the auto parts place and maybe just have to be ordered, but this is part of the fun, I guess.
