Big appology. I did not intend to trash the 216 engine in any sense. I only cared to voice my disappointment in not being able to (seemingly) follow my dream of rebuilding this 53 3100 with it's own parts. I want my 216 back in the truck.
I thought it funny that the engine rebuild stopped because of the rod bearings. I wanted what Jerry wrote about. Simply put - if I could get the babbitt material out and put in bearings. I did call the fellow that coilover mentioned in another thread and he did not give me good news.
I believe if I can get the rods fitted with bearings and have the head machined with new valves that it will provide me with a fine engine and last as long as the Lord will keep me on this earth.

Jerry, if you are serious about working the rods, I would like to put pencil to paper and find out what I need, what you will do, and how much it will cost.
