I pulled the carb and cleaned out the idle circut. Pulled the 2 jets and blew the upper and lower carb out. One problem I see is the the hole in the lower idle jet is about the thickness of a human hair. I think even under the best situations that is going to be a reocurring problem. the upper jet is a bit bigger. The carb is NOS, never been mounted until a few days ago.

I will adjust the idle mixture screw out 2 1/2 turns. I was reading a service manual of some sort that said 3/4 to 1 1/2, so I have been using 1 turn.
