As long as you don't hammer on it hard, you'll be ok. Keep it nice, slow and easy. Behind the driver's wheel will be fine, just have it far enough beck to keep the heat off the tire, say about 6" or so away at least. Maybe run them on an angle and baloney cut the tips to match, like an old Trans-Am.
