I just bought this 235 engine out of a 1958 Chevrolet biscayne passenger car. I've been looking for a good engine to replace my old worn out 216 in my 1952 Chevrolet Pickup. The owner of the Biscayne said the car had 80k original miles and the engine is original and never been touched or messed with. Judging by the amount of muck that's on the motor it's probably more like 180k but I got to listen to it and drive it before it was pulled. It had lifter noise but seemed solid and was only 200 dollars. It came with a 3 speed tranny that I don't need. When I got it home I noticed the engine is blue after cleaning the valve cover and the back of the head. I'm pretty sure it's a Blue Flame 235. From what I understand the name was only for advertising purposes for the new and improved 235 over the 216. I believe the engine being a 58 has hydraulic lifters, insert bearings and pressurized oil lubrication. Here are some questions I have...

Is there anything else significant about the 1958 235 that's better then the 216 thrift master?

I don't have a pressure washer or steamer and the motor is hanging on a cherry picker. What is the best way to clean it up without making a huge mess on the ground in doors?

Would I drill holes in the front of the 235 to mount to my pickup? I noticed it has side mounts and no holes in the front to bolt too.

Thanks for the help! This is my first big project and any tips would be great! A couple pictures are below for viewing...
