It looks like the one on the T-5 I pulled. It's a cable drive adapter. If you look closely you'll probably find a number on it which matches the OD ratio of the transmission. My guess it's used to adapt an OD transmission into a vehicle with a speedometer calibrated for a non-OD transmission. I removed the one on mine since I still have the original rear gear. Following my wife in a Yukon my speedo reading appears to be correct.
