OK mystery solved. I didn't remember buying splash aprons but it didn't make sense that one of these was sized for a 1/2 ton. I checked my invoices and discovered I bought both from LMC. I can't say for certain that I didn't click on: #388952 that fits the 47-53 and #38-8957 that fits the 54/55 but that's what I have.
Buying the correct one now is not as much trouble as painting it when it comes in.
