I recently purchased a Loadmaster which I was told is a 1948 1 1/2 Ton. The serial number tag is missing off the door post but I have pretty well confirmed that it is a 1948. However there is a Chassis number tag on the drivers door post with the following info:
"Maximum Gross Weight with Maximum Tires 16,000 lbs" "Chassis No. 20W-H 4001" "Net HP 83.5 at 3000 RPM" I have not been able to find any reference to this chassis number or the 16,000 lb GVW in the 1948 Manual. I assume that the 83.5 HP means that I have a 216 engine which also is supported by the engine serial number which has the prefix KAM. The truck has 161" wheelbase and is equipped with auxillary springs. Can anybody help with any additional information? Thanks,
