I am restoring a '52 GMC 1/2 ton and am unsure as to what color to paint the radio speaker surround and glove box. 1952 was the Korean war era and Chevy and GMC eliminated most of the chrome trim from the trucks and the stainless above and below the radio speaker and used plain painted steel. I know that in the prewar era the upper and lower strips were polished stainless with the recessed rib portions interior body color and the raised ribs painted a silver color on the Chevys and a beige color on the GMCs. '49 GMC Dash My question is whether anyone knows what the color scheme was for the war era trucks? Were the raised portions of the ribs painted silver or beige or was the entire dash painted the interior body color?
