If you feel under the cab right above the running board on the inside ledge there is a splash rubber that keeps water and dirt from going on your running board.Part #2 sheet metal screws to the top of that lip and holds the rubber splash,it screws in from the top down and is a pain to screw in. I did mine before I put the cab on the frame.
Part #1 screws to the bottom of the door and holds the weather stripping thats around the door in place.
I don't have my truck here it's put away for the winter,if I did I could post some pics.
