I musta lucked out on mine. I replaced them in my '54 last month. The rivets in the rigid rubber seal and the pivot rivet went in without much problem. Suggest you buy extra rivets for the seal and for the pivot. You may not need them, but it gives peace of mind.

I used a piece of 3/8" plate in my vice to back up the rivets. The plate fits inside the vertical window track. Set them with the little rivet tool from the parts supplier and a hammer.

I thought that I could replace the seals without removing my vent glass/frames. Wrong. You must remove them in order to replace the rubber seal around the vents. And it makes setting the rivets easier, too.
