I'm one of the 10% that goes to the junkyard with a tape. One place here in CT. has a 40 foot trailer full of hanging shafts. Still a daunting task to find one, then you may need crossover u joints to hanlde your spline issues. Not only will you need to measure lenght, U joints have different dia cups and lenghts between the ends of the cups. I go armed with a listing of available cross over joints from NAPA. Shafts start at $35. If you know someone who will shorten and balance yours for $50, that may be the way to go.
