I am pretty positive the glass pieces are a mirror image of eachother.
The screws that you are talking about go into a bar on the inside of the frame. The bars (one on top and one on the bottom) keep the two halves of the winshield together.
I think there is a tech tip on this site about taking one apart. I know on mine I had to drill the screws out, then cut a slot from the inside center edge thru the screw holes just to get the bars out.
