That is pretty neat right there!. I have an AD burb and a 45 pickup. I don't think I have ever seen clamshells on a Deco burb before. I think that the rear windows' ability to crank down is far superior to the AD burbs which have sliders.
I won't presume to tell you whether to restore or rod your truck. I can only offer what I would do with your truck. I am more of an original type of guy, but having said that, I would lean to toward more of an update for your burb. I'd go with a hot inline or small v-8. Buy a reproduction grill. Lower the truck (some-not into the weeds) and probably use some aftermarket artillery wheels or get some originals. Clean up the interior in a nice way with original style seating. Automatic transmission, 'cause this would be a good people carrier and maybe the ole lady will drive it. And I think I'd actually leave the exterior alone. It'll take a LOT of work to get the sheetmetal ready for some glossy paint. And flat paint would wreck it. And that patina can't be bought or faked. Stay away from cliches like red wheels and mexican blankets and you will have a REALLY cool people hauler there without blowing the bank account. Look forward to seeing what happens.
