Well, they don't make the 261 water pumps to last forever. I put a new water pump on my 261 back in 1981. Well today it went out. Was 10 miles from home when I heard a noise from the front of the truck.

Raised the hood and saw the water pump pulley wobbling. Shut the truck off and grabbed the fan and with no surprise found the fan would wobble around a lot.

Got one ordered for in the morning. Wonder if it will last 30 more years?

And... the truck got me and the wife back home without any problems. I just slowed it way down and took it easy.
