If you are wanting two 261 carbs for a dual manifold, dual 216's may be the way to go. From what I've been told (by the guys here and elsewhere) dual 216/early235 carbs are easier to tune and calibrate. If you are wanting a single carb application, finding a carb from a 292 may be alot easier than the 261.
