Got what I think are all the correct parts for the horn on my '59 Apache from American Classic. The mast bearing is in place and the horns work if I ground the contact surface of the mast bearing. I fastened the signal cancelling plate to the underside of the steering wheel, mounted the wheel, and slipped the spring loaded contact into the hole in the steering wheel hub. The spring loaded contact activates the horn if I ground the copper contact that sticks through the hub of the steering wheel, so I know that the spring loaded contact is in touching the contact surface of the mast bearing.
Now...
Is there supposed to be a spring under the horn contact plate?
The surface of horn contact plate, where the spring loaded contact touches, is isolated from ground, so what is the horn contact plate supposed to ground on? A spring, or ???
I searched through the '58 factory manual and the '59 supplement, but I cannot find any pictures or information on how the horn contact plate is supposed to be set up.
I'd appreciate any help.
