OK, so far so good - - - put the plastic washer back on and tightened it down to the point of scaring me and it appears not to be leaking. OP is good and after adding more oil it even stopped that tapping noise - ;-)

Dads50, it did not leak before I moved it - - - altho I'm not sure, I think it was that rubber washer that I had replaced the plastic one with - - - - definitely gotta get me some of those you mentioned. At close to $5 a quart, I can't affordd to use that oil on the shop floor. BTW, does FLAPS = ?Friendly Local Auto Parts Store?
