Good answer, Roy.
I have seen three different "codes" for the two ports on dual-action pumps: port "1" and port "2"; port "In" and port "Out"; and, no labels at all.
Another good answer was recently posted in response to this conundrum: connect them one way and if it does not work, connect them the other way.
