Fellas,
My 1946 6400 project came with a 235 that has the numbers 3836848 on the casting of the head. From this I understand it would be a later model 235 from 1956.
However, the number/letter sequence behind the distributor is: F 0 I 0 5 J and perhaps those 0's are o's? I sure like the idea of it being a later 235, and not the 216 that the guy thought it was when I bought it and I was too in love to double check then.

Is there any correlation or double check that these numbers would have in records anywhere. Built in Norwood, late '46. I am hoping it is a later 235 and not, by chance, a head on an earlier block? Frankly, I do not know if THAT is possible but having done a few valve jobs on the old Fords I used to have (before I saw the light) I put this out to the collective wisdom of Stovebolters. And, a thank you in advance. Mark
