| | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 67 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 67 | I am trying to change the transmission I have in my 49 chevy truck into an open drive. Right now I have a 4 speed torque tube trans. I was given a two piece drive shaft with a carrier bearing. I would like to change the rear of my 4 speed trans to except the open drive. I have a choice, either change the trans to a T5 S10 trans or stay with the original 4 speed. I'm trying to get the S10 trans rebuilt but I think I wouldn't mind staying with the original 4 speed if I can get the drive to work. Can anybody help with pictures or info ?
