Im still running the original 230 in my 63 stepside. Never been rebuilt, no leaks and no major engine work have ever been performed. Just fuel, oil and usual maintenance. The old inline six was built to last forever. Granted, it all depends on what direction you are going to go with the truck and how you plan on using it.
