starters been rebuilt twice now ,but i'm starting to suspect it again, aside from the switch what else can cause this ,like where the lever goes into the starter?.as stated previously all cables and grounds ,clean , and tight , and correct , switch is new and insulators in proper place,everything seems right until i push the foot pedal and it does turn over the motor, but when i let off the pedal it quits cranking , but lever gets stuck to button like tack welded . and it starts to smoke till i disconnect possitive cable , then i have to break 2 parts loose.
