a post script to this thread, and a final bit of irony.
Naturally, I've been obssesing about that temp gauge and how it reads. I found myself watching it as much as i watched the road. So as i was driving back home from the post office I thought to myself how much easier things were before I put in that new temp gauge and functioning thermostate last year.
30 seconds later I loooked at the gauge...the needle was GONE... fell right off the dial and is resting somewhere inside the instrument cluster.
Good. I wont be replacing it.
But now I'm wondering if I put in a new water pump, and had the radiator refurbished and spent a few hundred dollars in parts and labor just because the gauge was malfunctioning.
Ah, what the heck.
