As Tim said, you need a 1955-62 pan for your engine, a 235 pan will work, make sure you get the oil pump pick-up to match the pan.
Now you need to pull one of the rockers off the shaft and see if the groove inside is centered or offset.
Did the drilled head bolt come with the block or with the head?
