I have dealt with several TF units, maybe 59 is different. The ones I have tested have one wire and one cable which operates a hi/lo/park switch "inside" the unit. The one wire is the hot and the case is GND. The Maintenance manual shows one wire. Post a picture, maybe it is not a 59 unit? If 59 is different than manual, this is my guess:, one terminal would be hi, one low and one park if case is ground. This would mean you would have a switch on the dash not a knob and cable setup. But according to the manual, it is not a 55-59 unit.
