Try using a small amount of JB weld or Loctite weld, available in the local car parts stores.
These are 2-part epoxy.
This will seal any leaks on the brass fitting into the carb and last practically forever.
Carful not to use too much! Just enough to coat the threads and don't overtighten.
Let it cure overnight before connecting it to fuel.
