"Passenger side of the tailshaft"- - - - -The only thing back that far is the speedometer cable. The kickdown cable attaches to the transmission housing above the oil pan, close to the dipstick tube. Its only function is to allow a 3-2 downshift when passing. The modulator controls shift points and part-throttle downshifts by responding to intake manifold vacuum.
