Hey guys, I need some help figuring out which carb I have vs. which one I should have. When I purchased my '59 38 with 235, the PO said he had installed a rebuilt carb and had installed an aftermarket breather (dinky little chrome thing) because he couldn't get the oil bath cleaner to fit the new carb. After finally getting around to checking it, I found the reason: The installed carb requires a breather with a 2 5/8" opening, while the oil bath breather has a 2 1/4" opening. Do I have the wrong carb. or did he give me the wrong oil bath breather? The carb has the following lettering and numbers on it: Front = Rochester Monojet made in USA. Top = 12. Side = 7043021 270 2 (and an illegible number). Does anyone have any ideas whats going on here?
