2 peice rims require tubes, as there is no seal between the peies of the rims. Also, running tubes in tubless tires can cause premature tube/tire failure due to exessive heat buldup from friction between the tube and tire due to the composition of the construction. Ths is especially true if the tire is heavily loaded or is run at highway speeds.

OK Bill. I missed the split rim issue in the post. Mine were one piece 15" rims on the 3100.
