I think the stock setup is better - nothing across below the pan, no frame welding - I've got a pretty strong 283 in the 58 and it'll spin the tires anyday with no danger ... the only need for the side mounts is if you have an automatic that doesn't have the bellhousing mounts

and the pics were on hand from previous discussions, I try to take pics of everything I can so it's easier to explain .... or prove grin
