I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I just took my 54 out on it's first trip around the block sinse getting it. It has a 4speed tranny. Reverse works fine, It moves through all the gears just fine. After taking off in 2nd gear, it does just fine, but when i go to third it falls on its face and wants to die, acting as if the engine speed is not high enough, but that is not the problem. Is it some kind of transmission problem or does it have to do with the carb. or some other engine problem?
