Thank you, squeeze and truckernix. I too believe that I might need a coolant control valve for this type of heater, but I'm not sure. The trucks that I'm able to look at in our area have after market or non-original heaters and do not use a separate heater control valve. I've had the heater gone through by our radiator shop and checked out and the motor runs. Any additional input would be appreciated.
